CM Eric Bottcher: Resolution to require SCHOOLS to provide Cycling Education to Students

CM Bottcher makes much of a resolution to require schools to provide classes on proper cycling conduct. At best this is a sad recognition that the behavior of cyclists is out of control. First and foremost enforcement by the NYPD has been restrained by the city since Mayor Bloomberg. Enforcement is the backbone of a responsible bike culture. This was not only not authentically attempted it was opposed by cycling advocates. The result is that the lawless conditions on the streets and sidewalks has only grown more dangerous.
