NYDN**** NYC on track for 2nd deadliest year for cyclists since 1999.

To date there have been 26 cyclist fatalities in the city. 70% of which have been e-bike riders. The bike advocates complain that the "reqired" mileage of bike lanes have not been built out. The mayor calls for "education".** The whole of Vision Zero has been an exercise in zealotry. A fantastic fatal farce.** There was never an independent environmental impact study conducted. A cooperative effort to establish and maintain a responsible bike culture was actively avoided.To this day Transportation Alternatives asserts "Enforcement is not an option." As in other biked out urban areas it is possible to change policy. Backtrack-undo-rethink. Charles Komanoff is co-founder of Transportation Alternatives. He was a vociferous critic of nuclear energy until 2022. Then he did a 180 degree reversal recognizing the necessity to combat global warming. Vision Zero is another of his "great man" schemes.
