EVSA rally to protest Central Park takeover for E-bikes

Thursday Oct 9 at Noon outside 717 5th Ave (Entrance on E 55th street right around corner of 717 5th Ave). NYC PUBLIC Parks have been sold to Lyft/Citibike, bike lobby (Transportation Alternatives), delivery apps, big tech and big real estate. Yes-Central Park Conservancy, DOT, Mayor and half of our electeds have put money over safety and sold out to the lobbyists! This is why there is a dangerous and deadly redesign of Central Park's drives, which now prioritizes fast transportation of Citibike riders and delivery riders OVER pedestrians and runners with and without disabilities, and traditional cyclists and dogs. We see a huge increase in accidents since the redesign. The fact that red lights and Accessible Pedestrian Buttons (APS) have been removed and the drive itself has twice the room for cyclists than walkers and runners is reprehensible. What statistic can measure the decrease in our Quality of Life? None. WE know it and speak up about it! CPC's CEO Betsy Smith, the Mayor and half our electeds speak out against horse carraiges and how they should be replaced by e-carriages, but have NEVER spoken out against e-vehicles in Central Park! We ask ....WHY? CPC told us time and time again " We can't give an opinion on prohibiting anything from Central Park, but then they did. They lied. We ask...Why? (We know why) We must stand up and fight against the lies and hypocrisy and all the "dirty sell-out" money that is ruining Central Park, all NYC Parks, and fight for SAFETY, transparency, demand new CPC and DOT leadership and 0060-2024.
