NYC Councilman Frank Morano-Statement re lawsuit

Following is a statement from Staten Island Councilman Frank Morano regarding the lawsuit he initiated as a private citizen and which is being pursued by Jim Walden.***"I'm proud to be joining this lawsuit in my personal capacity because this is about two fundamental principles: public safety and the rule of law. This is about making sure New Yorkers can walk down the street safely again. If the Mayor believes the law should be changed, he should work with the City Council and the State Legislature to change it, not simply stop enforcing it. New Yorkers deserve safe sidewalks, safe crosswalks, and a government that follows the law."
