AMNY NYC pol to intro bills to get illegal e-motos off streets

Sean Abreu chairs the CC Transportation Committee. Has bills to create exchange program-legal for illegal. Create fines for retailers who sell without informing buyer they must be registered-$1,000.00 fine. Giving NYPD devices that determines if a bike is legal. Still waiting for the NYPD-which has long been disrespected and disregarded to have the handcuffs taken off.****https://www.amny.com/nyc-transit/nyc-lawmaker-bills-e-motos-electronic-motorcycles/***

EVSA Call to Action 8/11/26

The email from EVSA calls on supporters to contact 5 City Council Members who previously voted for Priscilla's Law and have not yet done so again. It makes the point that when e-bike riders showed up to answer a summons- none of the immigrant deliveristas were snatched by ICE. It further states that NONE of the 17 bills soon to be introduced make a violator personally responsible for the violation. Jack Brown Personal Experience Punks accuse woman of being a pedophile

Early one morning on the weekend a woman was being harassed by 15 year olds riding Citibikes and other conveyances of vandalism. Between First Ave and Ave A. As I passed by she hooked my arm to be escorted to wherever I was going. Tompkins Square Park. The adolescents were accusing her of being a "pedophile". Seemingly for having engaged in conversation. She was slightly tipsy and they were aggressivly obnoxious. Inside the park at the corner of 7th and Ave A the pack of 5 came behind. The excuse was to return a sodden pack of cigarettes to the woman. The reason was to continue harrassment. An older Hispanic man sat beside the woman. I went to the bathrooms where a mae Parkie and 2 females were beside a van. I described the situation and asked that they take the van and direct the bike punks to leave the woman alone and leave. One female pParkie said the boys had been around all night. Looking for fun and feeling groovy New Jersey has laws that require underage would be riders to have special licenses. Wear helmets etc. New York City needs to enact similar common sense laws to restore a modicum of sanilty and safety to streets, sidewalks and parks.

AMNY Mamdani draws line with DSA*Public Safety 8/10/26

The big news here is that the Mayor believes that prisons, cops and jails have their place. Differing from hard line DSA. Well this demonstrates some common sense. If it's PUBLIC SAFETY he is defending what about the bike bedlam? Enforcement is the backbone of a responsible bike culture. Trans Alt and sycophants openly oppose enforcement. How do you square that circle Your Honor? Hiz Honor executive dismembered NYPD Commish Tisch's no nonsense approach to bike mayhem? City & State September Sweet September 17 bills

17 bills shepherded by Spkr Julie Menin are up for consideration next month in the City Council. Included in the piece is a short form video by the Speaker outside City Hall. The pattern of the elected public officials over the past quarter century has been one of abject self dealing and craven irresponsibility. Like Donald J Trump or Vladimir Putin in Russia BIKE ZEALOTS have been cozened to work their despicable psychopathology until a weary and wounded public arises. NYP 5/16/26 New York Bike Tyrants Mauling the City

This opinion piece in the Post is written by a member of the conservative Manhattan Institute. It takes a clear eyed look at the hubris and zealotry that has bamboozled the pols, arm twisted, packed community boards and wreaked unnecessary havoc and harm on the public. Charles Komanoff and Mark Gorton are too smart and too wealthy for the public's own good. One top aide to an elected public official characterized Komanoff as "delusional." Mark Gorton was an zealous support of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for president. Nuff said. The delivery apps are focussed soley on profit-regardless of consequences. There we are- HUBRIS & AVARICE.****https://nypost.com/2026/05/17/opinion/gothams-tyrannical-bike-kings-are-taking-over-the-city/

Jack Brown: Personal Incident Washington Square Park

Recently I was walking East along Washington Square North. I was walking faster than a person in front of me. I took a step to my left preparing to pass. A delivery agent on an e-bike silently came by on my left. Narrowly missed me. Very close call with a silent but potentially deadly menace.Years ago I was misquoted in New York Magazine when I said that the rogue bike culture was "like a kind of terrorism." Tell me I was wrong.

To AM David Siffert & CM Harvey Epstein:Incident in Tompkins Square Park

Five 15 year olds riding Citibikes were harassing a Latina around 7AM Friday morning. The following is an account of my involvement and advocacy for mandatory licensing for youth riding bikes a la New Jersey.***Gentlemen- Yesterday-Friday-I was headed to Tompkins Square Park about 7 AM. On 6th St between First and A there were five 15 year olds harassing a slightly tipsy Latina. Slightly tipsy. Voluptuous. The adolescents were calling her a "pedophile." As I walked by she hooked my arm and walked with me toward Ave A. She wanted a way to avoid the pestering and possibly more aggressive behavior of the teenagers. Inside the park the teenagers came behind and again started with their talk. One in particular. The excuse was to return a pack of cigarettes she dropped. The purpose was to continue the harassment. An older Hispanic man sat down next to the woman on the bench. I walked toward the dog run. There were Parkies near the bathrooms. I approached them. One man. Two women. Described the situation. Asked that they drive by and tell the boys to leave the woman alone and leave the park. One of the female Parkies said that the boys had been around all night-on City Bikes. This indicated to me the value of New Jersey's new regulations requiring youth to obtain special licenses. If I had a cell phone I would have called the cops. Sensible regulations along the lines of those enacted by New Jersey are appropriate for NYC. I look forward to working constructively toward saner and safer sidewalks and streets with

Response to AM D Glick's Position on CP Horse Drawn Carriages

Outgoing Assemblymember Deborah Glick has come out against having horse draw carriages in Central Park. The response below is my refutaion of that position.********* AM Glick: I disagree with your position on the horse drawn carriages in CP area. In the past there was a VV piece on the topic. It was extensive and concluded that the horses were well cared for. There has been a developer that has been after the land where the stables are located. Perhaps he has contributed to your campaigns. I am far more concerned with the rampant exploitation of the park by cyclists. Especially the e bikes. The recent tragic accident resulting in the death of a tourist is an extremely rare occurrence. There has been a plethora of reported accidents -traumatic head injuries, injuries and deaths resulting from the reckless riding. The horse carriages enhance the pleasure of the park. The cyclists unless limited to certain hours and safe operation disrupt the pleasure of the park. The statistics and the motivations are starkly clear in their evidence. The bike promoters are fueled by hubris and avarice. The carriages are a usually peaceful pleasure. A delightful way to experience the park and a fond memory of old New York. Thank you for your efforts over the years. Best- Jack Brown
